What is The Voice Clinic?
The Voice Clinic is a specialized service provided by the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department at the QEII. NSHSC speech-language pathologists (S-LPs) are members of the Voice Clinic team and work closely with community S-LPs.
What are the typical assessment procedures?
The ENT specialist will insert a small scope through either the mouth or nose to closely examine the vocal cords. The S-LP will ask you to do a series of vocal exercises so that the vocal cords can be examined while in action. The NSHSC S-LP will contact your community S-LP to assist with your clinical follow-up.
